The buy-to-let market across the UK is thriving at the moment, with prices rising time and again, making investment returns for landlords very favourable. Yields are among the best in the country
Manchester is an area in which investors can enjoy favourable prices as well as a decent level of rental income, and this has put the city among the top ten when it comes to rental yields, as reported earlier this year by HSBC.
The bank discovered that Machester buy-to-let owners see an average level of income that sits at around &650 per tenant per month, and when the price of buying is taken into account, this takes yield levels in the city to 7.6 per cent, which puts Manchester in fourth place for the whole of the UK, and a wonderful investment opportunity.
Demand is sustained
One of the largest rental markets in the whole of the UK is that for student properties, and this is another area in which the north-west excels, largely due to the number of students that come to learn every year in Manchester.
The student sector is seen as being evergreen, because there will always be students going to university, and they will mostly always rent rather than buy. In Manchester, this is particularly good news for investors given that there are more students than any other city in the whole of Europe, giving landlords peace of mind that there will always be a steady flow of annual tenants.
Amenities are fantastic
Being able to offer tenants a good number of facilities and amenities in the surroundings to your home will always be a deciding factor in making sure that you can secure a contract. For young professionals and students, this will often include the likes of good transport links and access to the nightlife.
These are two areas where investors will find Manchester excels. In terms of transport, bus services are second to none, while the trams also give access to the majority of the city.
